Grado de conocimiento sobre el uso de profilaxis antibiótica en estudiantes del cuarto y quinto año de odontología de la universidad nacional “San Luis Gonzaga”, Ica – 2024

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar el grado de conocimiento sobre el uso de profilaxis antibiótica en estudiantes del cuarto y quinto año académico de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional San Luis Gonzaga, Ica. Estrategia metodológica: La investigación es de tipo básico, observacional, transversal, prospectivo y descriptivo. La muestra se conformó por 81 estudiantes de cuarto y quinto año de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional San Luis Gonzaga. La técnica utilizada es la encuesta y el instrumento un cuestionario de 20 preguntas, divido en 4 dimensiones. Los datos se analizaron en Statistical Package for the Social Sciences v.26. Resultados: El grado de conocimiento sobre el uso de profilaxis antibiótica fue malo en el 67,1% de los estudiantes. De acuerdo a la dimensión “conocimiento sobre condiciones sistémicas con mayor prevalencia” y “conocimiento sobre los fármacos de elección para la profilaxis antibiótica”, según el sexo y el año académico, predominó el grado malo. De acuerdo a la dimensión 2, según el sexo predominó el grado malo; y según el año académico, predominó el grado regular en el 4° año en el 22,2% y el grado malo en el 5° año, en el 46,9%. De acuerdo a la dimensión 4, según el sexo predominó el grado malo; y según el año académico, predominó el grado regular en el 4° año y el grado malo en el 5° año Conclusión: El grado de conocimiento sobre el uso de profilaxis antibiótica fue malo, en los estudiantes de cuarto y quinto año de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional San Luis Gonzaga.

The sample consisted of 81 fourth- and fifth-year students from the Faculty of Dentistry at the National University of San Luis Gonzaga. Results: The level of knowledge regarding the use of antibiotic prophylaxis was poor in 67.1% of the students. According to the dimensions "knowledge about the most prevalent systemic conditions" and "knowledge about the drugs of choice for antibiotic prophylaxis," poor grades predominated by sex and academic year. According to dimension 2, poor grades predominated by sex; and by academic year, average grades predominated in the 4th year in 22.2% and poor grades in the 5th year, in 46.9%. According to dimension 4, poor grades predominated by sex; and by academic year, average grades predominated in the 4th year and poor grades in the 5th year. Conclusion: The level of knowledge regarding the use of antibiotic prophylaxis was poor among fourth- and fifth-year students at the Faculty of Dentistry at the National University of San Luis Gonzaga.
