The thesis whose title is Influence of the concentration of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide on the level of corrosion of the AISI 304 steel used in the construction of the demethanizing column, is an experimental theoretical study in which a framework has been developed. theoretical reference to AISI 304 stainless steel and acid gases carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide and their corrosive action under the working conditions of the demethanizer tower, the experimental part has allowed demonstrating the corrosive action of these chemical compounds when in contact with Water. Corrosion was measured by the weight loss of the metal exposed for a certain time to the acids formed between these gases and water. It has been verified that the concentration of carbonic acid increases as the pressure increases and therefore its corrosive activity is greater.
