Necesidad de tratamiento ortodóncico por maloclusión según el índice estético dental en alumnos del Colegio Particular Pitágoras de Ica – 2023

Abstract

Determinar la necesidad de tratamiento ortodóncico por maloclusión según el índice estético dental en alumnos del Colegio Particular Pitágoras de Ica – 2023. Investigación es de tipo observacional, con enfoque cuantitativo, de nivel descriptivo con diseño no experimental, observacional de corte transversal y prospectivo. La muestra estuvo constituida por 108 alumnos debidamente matriculados en el año lectivo 2023. La técnica fue la observación directa mediante una revisión clínica básica oral; el instrumento que se aplicó fue el Índice de estética dental (DAI). Resultados: Sobre la necesidad de tratamiento ortodóncico por maloclusión según el índice estético dental el 53,7% (58) no necesitan tratamiento, el 32,4% (35) necesitan un tratamiento optativo, el 7,4% (8) necesitan un tratamiento deseable, el 6,5% (7) necesitan un tratamiento obligatorio. Conclusión: Existe necesidad de tratamiento ortodóncico optativo por presentar con mayor frecuencia una maloclusión manifiesta según el índice estético dental en alumnos del Colegio Particular Pitágoras de Ica - 2023.

Determine the need for orthodontic treatment for malocclusion according to the dental aesthetic index in students of the Pitágoras Private School of Ica - 2023. Research is observational, with a quantitative approach, at a descriptive level with a non-experimental, cross-sectional observational and prospective design. The sample consisted of 108 students duly enrolled in the 2023 school year. The technique was direct observation through a basic oral clinical review; The instrument that was applied was the Dental Aesthetic Index (DAI). Results: Regarding the need for orthodontic treatment for malocclusion according to the dental aesthetic index, 53.7% (58) do not need treatment, 32.4% (35) need elective treatment, 7.4% (8) need desirable treatment, 6.5% (7) need mandatory treatment. Conclusion: There is a need for optional orthodontic treatment due to the more frequent occurrence of manifest malocclusion according to the dental aesthetic index in students of the Pitágoras Private School of Ica - 2023.
