Nivel de conocimiento sobre la salud bucal relacionado con la higiene oral de estudiantes en etapa de adolescencia del C.E.P.P. Santa Luisa de Marillac de Pisco, 2023

Abstract

Introducción: Se observa que en nuestro país existe una deficiente educación en salud bucal, generando malos hábitos de higiene oral en la población, perjudicando su salud oral. Objetivo: El objetivo es determinar cuál es la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre la salud bucal y la higiene oral de estudiantes en etapa de adolescencia del C.E.P.P. Santa Luisa de Marillac de Pisco, 2023. Material y métodos: Esta investigación tiene un diseño observacional, prospectivo, transversal, analítica, relacional y cuantitativo. Se utilizo como técnicas la encuesta y la evaluación clínica oral, y como instrumentos el cuestionario y la ficha del índice de higiene oral (IHO) que se realizó en una muestra de 184 alumnos. Resultados: Se obtuvo en el cuestionario aplicado que el 62.5% (115 estudiantes) tenía un nivel de conocimiento regular, el 27.7% (51 estudiantes) obtuvo puntaje alto y el 9.8% (18 estudiantes) fue bajo, según la dimensión de medidas preventivas fue alto en un 29.9% (55 estudiantes); un 63.6% (117 alumnos) tuvieron puntaje regular; y el 6.5% (12 estudiantes) fue bajo; según la dimensión de enfermedades bucales fue alto en un 32.6% (60 estudiantes); un 54.9% (101 alumnos) tuvo puntaje regular; y un nivel bajo 12.5% (23 estudiantes); según la dimensión de desarrollo dental fue alto en un 14.7% (27 estudiantes); un 83.2% (153 alumnos) tuvo puntaje regular; y 2.2% (4 estudiantes) nivel bajo. Al evaluar el índice de higiene oral (IHO) se obtuvo que 39 alumnos obtuvieron un IHO adecuado, siendo el 21.2% de estudiantes del total; 121 alumnos un IHO regular, siendo el 65.8%; y 24 estudiantes un IHO bajo, siendo el 13% Conclusión: Existe una correlación negativa altamente significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento de salud bucal y el índice de higiene oral (p= ,000 y rho Spearman= 0,631).
