The most prevalent issue nowadays is the lack of awareness regarding oral wellness habits, leading many caregivers to remain uninformed about the vital nature of dental integrity and the proper strategies to avert decay and related odontological afflictions in their offspring. Objective: To determine the extent of dental health comprehension among guardians of preschoolers at Educational Institution No. 21015 in Mala during 2024. Materials and Methods: A descriptive inquiry with a preliminary exploratory approach and cross- sectional design was conducted involving 189 guardians of pupils from the fourth and fifth educational levels of I.E. 21015 in Mala. A 20-question survey tool, prevalidated by a trio of university scholars, was used, yielding an internal consistency coefficient of 0.635. Data were processed using summary statistics and cross-tabulations via SPSS v.27. Results: Parental awareness regarding oral hygiene yielded favorable outcomes, with 69% showing “Good” or “Very good” knowledge. Though maternal responses were dominant, 11% demonstrated insufficient knowledge—none of whom were fathers. Fourth-year students exhibited superior understanding of tooth decay compared to fifth-year peers, suggesting curricular reassessment. Around 75.1% grasped cariogenic diets well, particularly fathers. Lastly, 58.2% of students were knowledgeable about preventive measures, though fifth-year students showed notable gaps. Conclusion: Despite promising findings, there's a clear necessity to strengthen dental health education, especially in upper grades. Knowledge discrepancies by grade and minimal male involvement highlight improvement areas. Promoting robust oral hygiene literacy is crucial for overall dental well-being.
