No
To determine the factors associated with urinary tract infection in pregnant adolescents. Material and methods: An analytical, observational, cross-sectional, and retrospective study was conducted. 114 pregnant adolescent women who attended the Subtanjalla Health Center in Ica, from 2015 to 2024, with urinary tract infection (71) and without urinary tract infection (43), were included in the study. Data were obtained by reviewing medical records. The chi-square test was used, with p≤0.005. Results: A prevalence of 62.28% of urinary tract infection was found in pregnant adolescents. Among the associated factors we have: Age (X2=16,300 and a p-value=0.000), the level of education (X2=13,280 and a pvalue=0.001), marital status (X2=20,945 and a p-value=0.000), occupation (X2=9,487 and a pvalue=0.023), origin (X2=20,489 and a p-value=0.001), the number of prenatal check-ups (X2=21,646 and a p-value=0.000), history of urinary tract infection (X2=6,076 and a p-value=0.014), history of vaginal infection (X2=9,186 and a p-value=0.002). The following do not behave as factors associated with urinary tract infection: Menarche (X2=3.197 and a p-value=0.202), coitarche (X2=0.369 and a pvalue=0.831), and the trimester of pregnancy (X2=0.838 and a p-value=0.658). Conclusion: The presence of urinary tract infection in pregnant adolescents is associated with factors such as age, educational level, marital status, occupation, origin, number of prenatal checkups, history of urinary tract infection, and history of vaginal infection.
