Resumen
El propósito de la investigación fue relacionar la Caries dental y el consumo de azúcar en la dieta
en niños de 12 años de la institución educativa N° 22733 “República de Canadá” de Ica Perú.
enfoque. La investigación fue de enfoque cuantitativo, tipo observacional, prospectivo,
transversal y descriptivo. el nivel de investigación relacional. La población. Fue de 348 niños de
12 años. Utilizando la fórmula para una población conocida se calculó la muestra, obtuvimos un
resultado de 69 niños de 12 años. La técnica seguida Para la evaluación de caries. Fue la
observación clínica. para determinar el consumo de azúcar se realizó la entrevista
correspondiente. El instrumento fue construido a través de una ficha validado. Los resultados
obtenidos fueron los siguientes Respecto a caries dental muy alto 75.4% moderado 24.6%.
Consumo de bebidas azucaradas. El 75.4% ha consumido 24.6%, no ha consumido, Consumo de
postre 59.4%. Ha consumido. 40.6% no ha consumido, Consumo de galletas barra. 71% ha
consumido 29% no ha consumido, Consumo de confitería 69 6% ha consumido 30. 4% no ha
consumido, Consumo de cereal en la dieta en el desayuno. 72.5% ha consumido 27,5% no ha
consumido, Consumo de fruta en conserva 75.4% ha consumido 24,6% no ha consumido.
Concluimos Qué la caries dental no está relacionado al consumo de azúcar en la dieta en niños de
12 años de la institución educativa, La caries dental está relacionado al consumo de cereal del
desayuno en la dieta.

Dental caries is related to the consumption of breakfast cereal in the diet.
