Determine the relationship between treatment adherence and polypharmacy in older adults with high blood pressure and type II diabetes mellitus Lujaraja Health Post. METHODOLOGY Type of basic research, descriptive correlational, non-experimental cross-sectional design. The population was made up of 200 patients of both sexes aged over 60 years, belonging to the Hypertension and Diabetes Program and the sample included 100 patients of both sexes aged over 60 years, meeting the diagnostic criteria for chronic pathologies. of type II diabetes mellitus (61) and arterial hypertension (39), which are evaluated for 2 months at the Lujaraja Health Post. RESULTS 82.75% of patients who adhere to their antihypertensive treatment have polypharmacy and 93.02% of patients who adhere to their antidiabetic treatment have polypharmacy. CONCLUSION It is concluded that there is no relationship between adherence and polypharmacy in hypertensive patients with a value of 0.03 in Cramer's V coefficient, in the same way there is no relationship between adherence and polypharmacy in diabetic patients with a value of 0.06 in the Cramer's V coefficient. Cramer.
