Efecto de la aplicación del caolín en el cultivo de páprika (Capsicum annuum L.) para mejorar el rendimiento comercial en las pampas de Villacuri, Ica

Resumen
Las altas temperaturas son un factor limitante para la producción de cultivos, afectando procesos
fisiológicos de las plantas como la fotosíntesis, respiración y transpiración de las plantas, además
ocasionan lesiones solares en los frutos afectando la rentabilidad de los cultivos y aumentan los
costos de producción. Las lesiones solares en los frutos son causadas por la exposición excesiva
a la luz solar, afectando el aspecto, el sabor y el valor nutricional de los frutos. En este estudio, se
evaluó el efecto de las aplicaciones foliares de caolín sobre el cultivo de páprika. Se probaron
diferentes dosis y número de aplicaciones, los parámetros evaluados fueron el rendimiento del
cultivo, el peso unitario de fruto, tamaño de frutos, grados ASTA de frutos, altura de planta y
lesiones solares en frutos. Los resultados mostraron que la aplicación de caolín tuvo un efecto
positivo sobre la mayoría de los parámetros evaluados. El rendimiento del cultivo aumentó un
17.3%, el tamaño de los frutos aumentó un 8.6%, los grados ASTA aumentaron un 7.5%, la altura
de la planta aumento en 9.9% y las lesiones solares en frutos disminuyeron un 54.9%. Estos
resultados indican que el caolín puede ser una herramienta eficaz para mitigar los efectos
negativos de las altas temperaturas en el cultivo de páprika. El caolín actúa como un Suncrops,
reflejando la luz solar y reduciendo el estrés térmico en las plantas. Esto puede conducir a un
aumento del rendimiento, la calidad de la fruta y la rentabilidad del cultivo.
High temperatures are a limiting factor for crop production, affecting plant physiological processes such as photosynthesis, respiration and plant transpiration, also causing sun damage to fruit, affecting crop profitability and increasing production costs. Sun damage to fruit is caused by excessive exposure to sunlight, affecting the appearance, flavor and nutritional value of the fruit. In this study, the effect of foliar applications of kaolin on paprika crop was evaluated. Different doses and number of applications were tested, and the parameters evaluated were crop yield, fruit unit weight, fruit size, fruit ASTA grades, plant height, and sun injury on fruit. The results showed that the application of kaolin had a positive effect on most of the parameters evaluated. Crop yield increased by 17.3%, fruit size increased by 8.6%, ASTA grades increased by 7.5%, plant height increased by 9.9% and fruit sun injury decreased by 54.9%. These results indicate that kaolin can be an effective tool to mitigate the negative effects of high temperatures on the paprika crop. Kaolin acts as a sunscreen, reflecting sunlight and reducing heat stress on plants. This can lead to increased yield, fruit quality and crop profitability.
