cuantitativo-transversal, correlacional y no experimental, participando 210 mujeres adultas
riesgo no modificables (p=0.000), y no modificables (p=0.001).
The female population is exposed to a series of modifiable (lifestyle) and non-modifiable (genetic) risk factors that are significantly related to osteoporosis. Therefore, women must have a good understanding of the topic to prevent this disease. Objective: To determine the relationship between risk factors and knowledge about osteoporosis in adult female users of the Santiago Health Center – Ica, 2024. Material and Methods: A quantitative, cross-sectional, correlational, and non-experimental study was conducted, involving 210 adult women surveyed using a validated questionnaire within the national context. Results: A moderate level of risk factors predominated (55.7%). Regarding dimensions, a high level of modifiable risk factors prevailed (56.2%), while a moderate level was found in non-modifiable risk factors (44.3%). Most women had a moderate level of knowledge (66.7%). By dimension, a moderate level predominated in general knowledge (49.5%) and preventive measures (89.5%), while deficient knowledge prevailed regarding risk factors (55.2%). A significant relationship was found between risk factors and knowledge (p=0.000), confirming that among women with a high level of risk factors, deficient knowledge about the topic was predominant (15.7%). Similarly, a relationship was found between knowledge and modifiable risk factors (p=0.000) as well as non-modifiable risk factors (p=0.001). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between risk factors and knowledge about osteoporosis in adult female users of the Santiago Health Center – Ica, 2024.
