Introduction: Knowledge management is defined as actions and mechanisms that promote the exchange of communication and competence in an organization or group of professionals. Objective: To determine the impact of knowledge management related to preventive measures on dengue in residents of the province of Pisco. Material and methods: A quantitative paradigm study with a correlational design and a longitudinal section, with a sample of 383 adult participants, obtained by intentional non-probability sampling. Survey and observation techniques were used, with instruments including questionnaires to identify knowledge and practice in the homes. Both instruments were validated and reliable (0.71; 0.88). Results: Knowledge about dengue was average in 95% of the participants; in the general and specific dimensions, it was average in 51% and 80% in each. Similarly, preventive measures were inadequate in 83%; while in the physical, chemical, and adult vector dimensions, they were inadequate in 90%, 51%, and 99%, respectively. Furthermore, the general (Rho: 0.15; p: 0.041) and specific (Rho: 0.19; p: 0.011) dimensions of dengue knowledge showed a significant relationship with preventive measures. Conclusion: Knowledge management was significantly related to preventive measures against dengue in the inhabitants of the province of Pisco (Rho = 0.27; p: 0.001).
