The present research aims to analyze the situation of domestic violence and its impact on the relentless increase of femicide in the province of Ica during 2023. The study adopts a socio-legal approach, grounded in the theory of crime and a gender perspective, considering violence against women as a structural phenomenon deeply rooted in the family and social environment. The findings indicate that domestic violence primarily originates within intimate partner relationships characterized by power imbalances, gender stereotypes, and persistent conflicts, which progressively manifest through psychological, verbal, and physical aggression, ultimately leading to femicide in extreme cases. This study is basic in nature, with a cross-sectional design and a quantitative approach. Data were collected through surveys administered to a representative sample of justice system operators, legal professionals, police officers, victims, and aggressors. The results reveal a prevailing perception in favor of stricter penalties, firm judicial decisions, and adequate socio-legal guidance as effective mechanisms to prevent domestic violence and reduce femicide. It is concluded that the family constitutes the central focus for preventive intervention, requiring comprehensive public policies oriented toward education, gender equality, and respect for human dignity.
