Nivel de conocimiento sobre el uso e higiene de prótesis parcial removible en pacientes portadores atendidos en consultorios particulares del distrito de Nazca - 2023

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre el uso e higiene de prótesis parcial removible en pacientes portadores atendidos en consultorios particulares del distrito de Nazca – 2023. Estrategia metodológica: Tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, tipo básico, observacional, transversal, prospectivo y de nivel descriptivo. La muestra se conformó por 150 pacientes portadores de prótesis removibles que acudían a consultorios odontológicos de Nazca. La técnica fue la encuesta y el instrumento fue un cuestionario. Los datos fueron analizados en Statistical Package for the Social Sciences v.26. Resultados: El nivel de conocimiento sobre el uso e higiene de prótesis parcial removible en pacientes portadores, fue bueno en el 63,3%. Según el tipo de prótesis dental más utilizada, el 75,3% utilizaba prótesis parcial removible. Según el tiempo y condición de las prótesis usadas, aquellos que tenían menos de 5 años, de 5 a 8 años y más de 8 años, tuvieron una buena condición. Según los hábitos de retiro de la prótesis, el 83,3% lo retira durante el día. Según el motivo de retiro, el 60,7% lo retira para descansar. Según el lugar de colocación, el 46,7% lo deja en un casillero. Según la frecuencia de visitas al odontólogo, el 74% lo hacía cuando presentaba molestias. Según el número de veces de renovación, el 52,7% nunca ha renovado. Según el nivel de conocimiento sobre higiene de prótesis dental, el 90,0% tuvo un nivel regular. Conclusión: El conocimiento sobre el uso e higiene de prótesis parcial removible en pacientes portadores, fue bueno.

Objective: To determine the level of knowledge regarding the use and hygiene of removable partial dentures in patients with removable partial dentures treated in private offices in the Nazca district - 2023. Methodological strategy: It had a quantitative, basic, observational, cross-sectional, prospective, and descriptive approach. The sample consisted of 150 patients with removable dentures who attended dental offices in Nazca. The technique was a survey and the instrument was a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences v.26. Results: The level of knowledge regarding the use and hygiene of removable partial dentures in patients with removable partial dentures was good in 63.3%. According to the most commonly used type of dental prosthesis, 75.3% used removable partial dentures. Based on the age and condition of the dentures worn, those less than 5 years old, 5 to 8 years old, and more than 8 years old were in good condition. Regarding denture removal habits, 83.3% removed them during the day. Regarding the reason for removal, 60.7% removed them to rest. Regarding the placement location, 46.7% left them in a locker. Regarding the frequency of dental visits, 74% did so when experiencing discomfort. Regarding the number of times the dentures were replaced, 52.7% had never been replaced. Regarding the level of knowledge about denture hygiene, 90.0% had a fair level. Conclusion: Knowledge about the use and hygiene of removable partial dentures in patients with partial dentures was good.
