Resumen
Determinar los factores asociados a las complicaciones de hipotiroidismo en pacientes
atendidos en el servicio de endocrinología del Hospital Regional de Ica en el periodo 2018 al
2021.
Metodología. La investigación fue de enfoque cuantitativo trasversal, observacional y
descriptiva. En 66 casos (Pacientes con hipotiroidismo con complicaciones). Resultados. El 66%
de los pacientes con hipotiroidismo presentan complicaciones, siendo las edades mayormente
afectadas las de 22 a 48 años con el 59,2% de los pacientes, siendo las complicaciones cardiacas
más frecuentes entre las edades de 22 a 48 años (86,4%) y las neurológicas entre las edades de 22
a 64 años (95,5%), mientras que las de la salud mental entre las edades de 33 a 64 años (74,9%).
Las complicaciones en los pacientes con hipotiroidismo fueron más frecuentes en el sexo
femenino (65%), las que proceden de zonas urbanas (59%)
Conclusiones. Los factores asociados a las complicaciones de hipotiroidismo en pacientes
atendidos en el servicio de endocrinología del Hospital Regional de Ica en el periodo 2018 al 2021
son prevalentemente mentales.
To determine the factors associated with hypothyroidism complications in patients treated at the Endocrinology Service of the Regional Hospital of Ica from 2018 to 2021. Methodology: The study had a quantitative, cross-sectional, observational, and descriptive approach. It included 66 cases (patients with hypothyroidism and complications). Results: 66% of patients with hypothyroidism presented complications, with the most affected age group being 22 to 48 years old (59.2% of patients). Cardiac complications were most common among individuals aged 22 to 48 years (86.4%), while neurological complications were most frequent among those aged 22 to 64 years (95.5%), and mental health complications were most prevalent among those aged 33 to 64 years (74.9%). Complications were more frequent in female patients (65%) and those from urban areas (59%). Conclusions: The factors associated with hypothyroidism complications in patients treated at the Endocrinology Service of the Regional Hospital of Ica from 2018 to 2021 are predominantly mental health-related.
