Análisis retrospectivo del patrón de consumo de metilfenidato en niños y adolescentes con TDAH en un hospital de Ica-2025.

Abstract

Título: “Análisis retrospectivo del patrón de consumo de metilfenidato en niños y adolescentes con TDAH en un hospital de Ica-2025”. Objetivo: Determinar el patrón de consumo de metilfenidato en niños y adolescentes con TDAH en el Hospital Regional de Ica durante el segundo semestre del 2024 y el primer semestre del 2025. Método: Se desarrollo una investigación de tipo básica, nivel descriptivo, con diseño no experimental de corte longitudinal retrospectivo. La muestra estuvo representada por 30 Historias clínicas de niños y adolescentes con diagnóstico de TDAH que hubieran recibido prescripción médica de metilfenidato en el Hospital Regional de Ica durante el segundo semestre de 2024 y el primer semestre de 2025. Resultados: El consumo de metilfenidato en pacientes con Trastorno por Déficit de Atención con Hiperactividad (TDAH) presentó una prevalencia diagnóstica del 29,41%, con mayor proporción en varones y prescripción del 100% en ambos sexos. La dosis estable se alcanzó en promedio a los 4 meses (principalmente entre 3 y 5 meses), con una media de 9,17 mg/24h y predominio de dosis cercanas a 10 mg/24h. El 76,67% recibió monoterapia y el 23,33% tratamiento combinado con Risperidona o Ácido valproico. Conclusiones: Se determino un patrón de uso racional, con ajuste progresivo de dosis y ausencia de reacciones adversas reportadas.

Aim: To determine the pattern of methylphenidate consumption in children and adolescents with ADHD at the Ica Regional Hospital during the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025. Method: A basic, descriptive, retrospective longitudinal, non-experimental study was conducted. The sample consisted of 30 medical records of children and adolescents diagnosed with ADHD who had received a prescription for methylphenidate at the Ica Regional Hospital during the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025. Results: Methylphenidate use in patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) showed a diagnostic prevalence of 29.41%, with a higher proportion in males and a 100% prescription rate for both sexes. A stable dose was reached on average after 4 months (mainly between 3 and 5 months), with a mean of 9.17 mg/24h and a predominance of doses close to 10 mg/24h. 76.67% received monotherapy and 23.33% received combination therapy with risperidone or valproic acid. Conclusions: A pattern of rational use was determined, with progressive dose adjustment and no reported adverse reactions.
