Early detection of breast cancer is a vital procedure that, together with preventive practices, prevents the onset and progression of the disease. Objective: To determine the relationship between early detection of breast cancer and preventive practices in users of the Regional Hospital of Ica, 2024. Materials and methods: Basic, quantitative, cross-sectional, correlational, and non experimental study, with a sample of 110 users in an outpatient consultation of the gynecology service, applying the survey technique, as an instrument two validated questionnaires. Results: Early detection of breast cancer is average 65.5%, as are the dimensions use of early detection means 50.0% and frequency of early detection 62.7%. Preventive practices are regular 55.4%, as is the primary preventive practices dimension 57.3% and good level in secondary preventive practices 53.6%. A significant relationship was found between the variables (p=0.000), with a positive and high behavior (rs=0.602), that is, the higher the level of preventive practices, the higher the level of early detection of breast cancer. Similarly, a significant relationship was found between preventive practices and the following dimensions: Use of means for early detection of breast cancer (p=0.000), and the frequency of early detection of breast cancer (p=0.000). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between early detection of breast cancer and preventive practices in users of the Regional Hospital of Ica, 2024.
