Estrategia
metodológica. Estudio cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, descriptivo. Población: Usuarios de
la clínica particular de hemodiálisis. Técnica: entrevista. Instrumentos: cuestionario estructurado,
To analyze the extent to which patients undergoing hemodialysis exhibit pharmacological adherence regarding drugs regulating bone-mineral metabolism. Methodological strategy. Quantitative study, non-experimental design, descriptive. Population: Users of the private hemodialysis clinic. Technique: interview. Instruments: structured questionnaire, with 2 sections: sociodemographic data and pharmacological adherence test SMAQ, and specific questionnaire on compliance and patient preferences regarding drugs for bone-renal metabolism. Results and conclusions. General data of hemodialyzed patients and data of adherent patients are presented. Female participation: 53.5%, male participation: 46.5%. Mean age of participants: 58.25 years. Mean age of adherent participants: 60.45 years. Overall, most adherent, and non-adherent hemodialyzed patients had been on hemodialysis treatment for less than a year. 52.5% consider medications important for avoiding cardiac problems, 20.0% expressed trust in the doctor believing medications are important because the doctor said so. Regarding medication utility, 62.5% consider medications useful for avoiding cardiac problems. 22.5% express utility at the bone system level. A small percentage stated not knowing the importance or utility of medications. 69.0% of hemodialyzed patients exhibit therapeutic adherence or compliance regarding pharmacological treatment, complementary to hemodialysis treatment.
