The objective of this research is to determine the characteristics of upper gastrointestinal bleeding in endoscopic gastrointestinal tract scans at the Regional Hospital of Ica, during the year 2023. Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental study was used with 66 patients enrolled in the study, who presented upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Results: The results obtained for the present work: the most representative age group was that of men with 60.6%, with a higher percentage in the age group of those over 66 years of age with 43.94%, in relation to marital status the highest presentation was in cohabitants with 31.62%, and according to the studies achieved it was with 69.70% for higher studies, with those patients who work with 72.73%, the most frequent location found is the stomach with a percentage of 69.70%, patients came to the hospital mostly for presenting hematemesis mane (18.18%), the most frequently found lesion was erosive gastritis whose percentage is 31.82. Conclusion: The study concludes that the relevance of upper gastrointestinal bleeding among the most frequent conditions of the digestive tract in our environment is evident, which is why it is necessary to deepen the knowledge related to diagnosis, care and early treatment to avoid hemodynamic changes that would lead to the chronicity of the injury and also to the death of the patient.
