estudiantes, trabajadores y docentes.
In this research work, an information transmission network using Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology is developed in order to improve the data network of Saint Louis Gonzaga University. This data system will provide access to telecommunications services on the university campus with fast upload and download speeds. With this data, we analyze the current situation of the network infrastructure on the university campus, and with this information, the GPON network will be designed using Google Earth. Likewise, the parameters of the current ITU G.984.x standard are considered to achieve a standardized design. Likewise, the theoretical concept of optical fiber for networks using the GPON standard is discussed. Then, the optimal levels suitable to ensure the stability and viability of the network were determined. Finally, it was concluded that the execution of this project could cover the need for new communication technologies required by students, workers and teachers.
