estudiantes, (rho=310), (rho=258) (rho=269), (rho=284).
The present study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the educational session and its relationship with the perception of contraceptive methods in students from third to fifth year of secondary education of a public school, Ica - 2024. Material and methods: quantitative approach, cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational, with a sample of 95 students from 3rd to 5th year of secondary school of a public institution in Ica, obtained through a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. 2 questionnaires with pretest and pos-test were applied, the inferential statistical analysis used was the Wilcoxon test and after that to evaluate the relationship was the Spearman correlation coefficient. Results: It was found that before the educational session, 62.1% had deficient knowledge, 32.6% regular and only 5.3% good. After the educational session, 65.3% of students' knowledge was good, 16.8% average, and 17.9% poor, demonstrating improvements. Regarding perceptions, 74.7% were favorable, 20% were unfavorable, and 5.3% were not favorable at all. A correlation was found between the effectiveness of the educational session and students' perceptions of contraceptive methods (rho=361) (p<0.05). The same was true for the variable’s concepts, types, use, and frequency of contraceptive methods, and students' perceptions (rho=310), (rho=258), (rho=269), and (rho=284). Conclusions: The educational session was effective and improved perceptions of contraceptive methods.
