The Palaciopata archaeological site, located in the Huaccepampa town center, Coracora district, Parinacochas province, Ayacucho, presents questions about its political, social and economic organization due to its strategic location. This research focused on analyzing the spatial distribution and architecture present in the study area, exploring factors that influenced its design and function. The main objective was to identify the aspects that determined the spatial and architectural distribution of the site, including construction techniques and materials, architectural morphologies, and possible religious or ceremonial influences. The methodology used included archaeological prospecting, detailed registration of structures and direct analysis of construction patterns observed at the site. The findings revealed a sectorized distribution: Sector A includes a quadrangular structure accompanied by retaining walls that delimit spaces with ceremonial function characteristics, while Sector B presents semicircular structures with domestic function characteristics. The construction made predominant use of local resources such as stone and mud, and retaining and defense walls were identified. In the upper part of the site, a quadrangular unit was identified that suggests the presence of ritual practices. The location of the site seems to respond to social and strategic reasons related to territorial administration. In conclusion, this research provides new data about Palaciopata, laying the foundations for future studies in the southern region of Ayacucho. The interpretation of its architecture and spatial distribution contributes to the understanding of the cultural and organizational dynamics of the pre-Hispanic societies of Parinacochas.
