This thesis is based on an archaeological study that analyzes the important aspects of the urban planning of the archaeological site “Convento”, the research focuses on the study of architecture with the purpose of defining the functionality of the site during the late intermediate period. period spanning from 1000 y1450d.c. According to the results of the materials found on the surface during the archaeological survey, it was possible to identify that the archaeological site has two walls and numerous housing structures built from excavated stone typical of the place, many of these structures are associated with colcas or deposits; The late intermediate period is characterized by a series of conflicts between ethnic groups, a characteristic that is reflected in the archaeological site of “Convento” since it has defensive walls which suggest that the archaeological site was developed in a conflictive era. This research is very important, since it contributes new knowledge regarding the use and function of the structures that make up the archaeological site. This thesis demonstrated the great importance that the Convento archaeological site had in the area where it was developed. Likewise, the description of other archaeological sites related both in time and space is carried out, with the objective of investigating recurrences of architectural patterns that allow us to infer the social actions of that period and environment.
