Resumen
Introducción. La autoestima, constituye la capacidad para aceptarse, valorarse y amarse, siendo
un componente vital en la niñez para mantener buenas relaciones sociales. Objetivo: Determinar
la relación entre la autoestima y las habilidades sociales en escolares de 8 a 11 años de la
Institución Educativa 22313 - El Arenal, 2024. Material y métodos: Estudio correlacional,
transversal, cuantitativo, no experimental, con una muestra de 187 escolares, a quienes se les
recolecto datos mediante la técnica la encuesta e instrumento de recolección de datos dos
cuestionarios validados. Resultados: Se determinó la relación entre variables (p=0.000),
comportándose de forma positiva y moderada (r=0.626), puesto que, a menor nivel de autoestima,
menor eran las habilidades sociales y viceversa. De igual forma se halló relación entre habilidades
sociales y la autoestima personal (p=0.000), autoestima académica (p=0.000), autoestima familiar
(p=0.000), y autoestima social (p=0.000). Conclusiones: La autoestima se relaciona
significativamente con las habilidades sociales en escolares de 8 a 11 años de la Institución
Educativa N° 22313 - El Arenal, 2024.
Introduction. Self-esteem constitutes the ability to accept, value and love oneself, being a vital component in childhood to maintain good social relationships. Objective: Determine the relationship between self-esteem and social skills in schoolchildren aged 8 to 11 years from the Educational Institution 22313 - El Arenal, 2024. Material and methods: Correlational, cross sectional, quantitative, non-experimental study, with a sample of 187 schoolchildren, from whom data was collected using the survey technique and two validated questionnaires. Results: The relationship between variables was determined (p=0.000), behaving in a positive and moderate way (r=0.626), since the lower the level of self-esteem, the lower the social skills and vice versa. Likewise, a relationship was found between social skills and personal self-esteem (p=0.000), academic self-esteem (p=0.000), family self-esteem (p=0.000), and social self-esteem (p=0.000). Conclusions: Self-esteem is significantly related to social skills in schoolchildren aged 8 to 11 years from Educational Institution No. 22313 - El Arenal, 2024.
