Resumen
El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el desempeño docente y la calidad
educativa en la Institución Educativa José Toribio Polo de la ciudad de Ica, durante 2023.
Bajo un enfoque cuantitativo y diseño no experimental, correlacional y transversal, se evaluó
una muestra de 60 docentes utilizando cuestionarios estructurados y escalas tipo Likert. Se
analizaron variables como capacidad pedagógica, responsabilidad profesional y relaciones
interpersonales, así como dimensiones de la calidad educativa. Los resultados indicaron que
el 68.3% de los docentes mostraron un desempeño alto, mientras que el 38.3% alcanzó
niveles altos en calidad educativa. Se identificaron correlaciones positivas moderadas entre
el desempeño docente y la calidad educativa (r = 0.534, p < 0.001), siendo la responsabilidad
profesional y la capacidad pedagógica las dimensiones con mayor influencia. Se concluye
que el fortalecimiento del desempeño docente, a través de la formación continua y la
promoción de habilidades pedagógicas, puede contribuir significativamente a mejorar la
calidad educativa. Además, se resalta la importancia de las políticas educativas integrales
que incluyen la capacitación docente y el desarrollo de un entorno educativo propicio.
The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between teacher performance and educational quality at the José Toribio Polo Educational Institution in the city of Ica, during 2024. Under a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, correlational and crosssectional design, a sample of 60 teachers was evaluated using structured questionnaires and Likert-type scales. Variables such as pedagogical capacity, professional responsibility and interpersonal relations were analysed, as well as dimensions of educational quality. The results indicated that 68.3% of the teachers showed high performance, while 38.3% achieved high levels of educational quality. Moderate positive correlations were identified between teacher performance and educational quality (r = 0.534, p < 0.001), with professional responsibility and pedagogical ability being the most influential dimensions. It is concluded that strengthening teacher performance, through continuous training and the promotion of pedagogical skills, can contribute significantly to improving educational quality. In addition, it highlights the importance of comprehensive education policies that include teacher training and the development of an enabling learning environment.
