The investigation responds to the problem of the agricultural community of the Reyes Annex, which requires improving the conduction of water in the Reyes channel, between the progressive 12 + 633.39 to 13 + 333.39, located in the district of Tambo, province of Huaytará, Huancavelica. The main objective was to evaluate the conduction of the flow in the section, verifying its inefficiency. The main hypothesis affirms that optimizing the design and simulating the channel ensures the improvement of its hydraulic efficiency. The research is of the applied type, with a quantitative approach, using field procedures to obtain channel data and calculation methods for its evaluation. The level is descriptive and correlational, describing physical and kinetic characteristics of the channel. The study sample is the section mentioned that supplies 116 hectares of crops. The data collection techniques and instruments are: observation, documentary compilation, modeling and evaluation of results. The initial analysis showed an efficiency of 66.67% when driving only 0.04 m3/sec. The simulation with HEC-RAS 4.1.0 allowed to fit the model with field data representing the observed flow behavior. With this model, improvements to the channel with a rectangular section of maximum hydraulic efficiency and concrete lining were proposed, guaranteeing 100% hydraulic operation, for an available flow of 0.06 m3/sec. confirming the hypothesis. Additionally, the alternative of using PVC Class 10 pipes of 400 and 200 mm was proposed, both proposals being viable from the hydraulic point of view.
