Funcionalidad familiar y autoestima en los estudiantes de secundaria de la Institución Educativa “Nuestra Señora del Rosario”, Pachacútec, 2022

Abstract

El vigente estudio desarrollado sobre Funcionalidad familiar y autoestima en los estudiantes de secundaria de la Institución Educativa “Nuestra Señora del Rosario”, Pachacútec, 2022, se planteó debido a la observación de inadecuadas conductas en los escolares; como la falta de autoconicimiento, aceptación, autonomía y libertad de decisión, que puede verse influenciado por el tipo de relación familiar que existe en sus hogares. Por ello, tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación que existe entre la funcionalidad familiar y la autoestima de los estudiantes. La metodología usada fue de tipo básico, de nivel descriptivo-correlaciónal y diseño no experimental de corte transversal. La población de estudio se conformó por 83 estudiantes de nivel secundario y una muestra de 69 estudiantes con un tipo de muestreo probabilístico. Así mismo, como instrumentos de evaluación se utilizaron el Inventario de Autoestima Coopersmith Versión Escolar (58 ítems dicotómicos) y la Escala de Funcionamiento Familiar APGAR (5 ítems en escala Likert). Como resultados, se obtuvo que el 33,3% de estudiantes presenta disfunción familiar severa y el 50,7% presenta un nivel de autoestima promedio. Se concluyó, mediante la prueba Rho de Spearman, que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa (p=0.00<0.05) y una correlación directa alta (Rho=0.71 7) entre la funcionalidad familiar y la autoestima. Es decir, a mayor nivel de funcionalidad familiar, mayor será el nivel de autoestima y viceversa.

The current study developed on Family functionality and self-esteem in high school students of the Educational Institution "Nuestra Señora del Rosario", Pachacútec, 2022, was proposed due to the observation of inadequate behaviors in schoolchildren; such as the lack of self-knowledge, acceptance, autonomy and freedom of decision, which can be influenced by the type of family relationship that exists in their homes. Therefore, the objective was to determine the relationship between family functionality and students' self-esteem. The methodology used was basic, descriptive-correlation and non-experimental cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 83 high school students and a random sample of 69 students. The Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory School Version (58 dichotomous items) and the APGAR Family Functioning Scale (5 items on a Likert scale) were used as evaluation instruments. The results showed that 33,3% of the students had severe family dysfunction and 50,7% had an average level of self-esteem. It was concluded, by means of Spearman's Rho test, that there is a statistically significant relationship (p=0.00<0.05) and a high direct correlation (Rho=0.717) between family functionality and self-esteem. That is, the higher the level of family functionality, the higher the level of self-esteem and vice versa.
