cuantitativa, corte transversal, diseño no experimental y nivel explicativo.
Objective: To determine the influence of Phubbing on interpersonal relationships in high school students of a Public Educational Institution-Ica. Methodology: Quantitative research, cross sectional, non-experimental design and explanatory level. The sample consisted of 230 high school students chosen by simple stratified random sampling. The instrument was the questionnaire on Phubbing designed by Hancco N. validated with a reliability level of 0.832 and the questionnaire on interpersonal relationships designed by Cisneros M., and used by Banegas N. and Coela G., validated with a reliability of 0.873. Results: The level of phubbing found was medium 64.3%, interpersonal relationships predominated in the low level 37.8%, as well as in the dimensions time of smartphone use 50.0%, insomnia due to smartphone use 53.9%, and smartphone dependence 61.7%. The simple linear regression statistical model found strong negative influence with standardized coefficient β = -.801 and significance level p = .000, as there was a higher proportion of medium level phubbing in high school students with low level of interpersonal relationships (37.8%). Conclusion: Phubbing significant influence on interpersonal relationships in high school students of a Public Educational Institution-Ica.
