Dengue is a viral infection that causes high morbidity and mortality in the population, which can occur due to inadequate behaviors or preventive measures. Objective: To determine the relationship between preventive measures against dengue and the occurrence of cases in adults treated at the Tupac Amaru Inca - Pisco Health Center 2023. Material and methods: Quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational, and non-experimental study, being the sample of 348 adults using a survey and interview technique, with the questionnaire as an instrument. Results: Preventive measures were predominantly inadequate 44.8%; by dimensions, the inadequate level predominated in vector control measures 40.8%, personal protection 46.0%, and environmental protection 48.3%; the moderately adequate level predominated in community participation measures 53.4%. In the occurrence of cases, 64.9% were not diagnosed with dengue, and 35.1% were. A significant relationship was found between the variables (p = 0.000), observing a higher proportion of diagnosed cases in adults with inadequate preventive measures (28.7%). Likewise, a significant relationship was found between the occurrence of cases and vector control measures (p = 0.001), personal protection (p = 0.000), environmental protection (p = 0.000) and community participation (p = 0.000). Conclusions: Preventive measures against dengue are significantly related to the occurrence of cases in adults treated at the Túpac Amaru Inca Health Center - Pisco 2023.
