Ica 2024.
HPV, known as human papillomavirus, is one of the most common sexually transmitted pathogens worldwide and represents a public health priority. Objective: To determine the relationship between the cognitive level and the acceptance of human papillomavirus vaccine in mothers of schoolchildren in a public educational institution. Ica 2024. Materials and methods: Transectional, quantitative study, the research design was non-experimental and correlational, a survey was applied to 108 mothers of school children; and the data analysis was the SPSS program version 24. The results indicated that of the 108 participating mothers, 45.4% of the mothers have a high cognitive level about HPV, 25.9% a medium level and 28.7% a low level; as for the acceptance of the vaccine, 55.6% expressed rejection, while 44.4% accepted it. 4% accepted it; it was also observed that the cognitive level influences the decision to vaccinate since mothers with a low cognitive level showed 43.3% rejection, 33.3% of those with a medium cognitive level also rejected the vaccine, while 72.9% of mothers with high cognitive level accepted to vaccinate their children, in conclusion there is a statistically significant relationship (p < 0.05) between cognitive level and acceptance of the HPV vaccine in mothers of schoolchildren in a public educational institution.
