Metodología: Tipo y nivel descriptivo, diseño no experimental.
Unidad de análisis: ACR Laguna Huacachina. Instrumentos: Encuesta a 169 turistas y 12
autoridades locales.

To evaluate how the application of the contingent valuation method contributes to the protection and improvement of the ecosystem services of the Huacachina Lagoon Regional Conservation Area, Province of Ica”. Methodology: Descriptive type and level, nonexperimental design. Unit of analysis: RCA Huacachina Lagoon. Instruments: Survey of 169 tourists and 12 local authorities. Results: The Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) was applied for the conservation of the RCA Huacachina Lagoon, since it allowed estimating the economic value that tourists assign to the “ecosystem services” that this place offers. It should be noted that 52,07% indicated that they have not seen any RCA conservation action, 31,95% sometimes and 15,97% responded that they have. Regarding the item “willingness to pay”, 57,98% of the participants indicated that they would pay an amount for the maintenance of the RCA, 9,58% sometimes and 12,42% said they would not.
