Abstract
The purpose of this project is to analyze the architectural pattern of the settlement of the Chukurpus archaeological site corresponding to the late intermediate period (1100-1470 AD), likewise the objectives revolve around describing its characteristics and architectural elements. On the other hand, the methodology used for this work constitutes a review of national and regional archaeological sources, prospecting of the area of interest together with the registration of location sheets, architecture sheets, photographic record, architectural analysis and registration. of cultural materials found on the surface. The Chukurpus archaeological site is located on a natural hill, on two low hills, and was divided into two sectors; Sector I, is located on the highest hill, is composed of a set of dispersed circular enclosures, which ascend from the lower part until reaching the top and which presents a terraced plaza; Sector II is located on the lowest hill, here more structures were built on the top and slope of the hill, it is made up of domestic structures of circular and oval shapes, grouped in patios, some of them are built on artificial terraces, joined with patios and a main passage in the central part, oriented from east to west. According to the study of the architectural pattern, Chukurpus had an administrative and domestic function, associated with it, funerary structures were also recorded. In both sectors the architectural units are in good condition. We also explain in a summarized way part of the pre-Hispanic cultural process of the upper basin of the Ica River, with greater emphasis we deal with the Late Intermediate Period (chukurpus).
